The Martins Ferry City School District Board of Education is seeking an experienced
and visionary educational leader to serve as its next Superintendent. The successful
candidate will bring strong leadership skills, integrity, and a deep commitment to
students, staff, and the community.

Qualifications:
The Board seeks candidates who possess or can demonstrate the following:
● Valid Ohio Superintendent License (required)
● Successful experience as a superintendent (preferred)
● Demonstrated ability in school finance and fiscal responsibility
● Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
● Integrity and the ability to work collaboratively with the Board, Treasurer, staff,
and community
● Proactive approach to strategic planning, goal setting, and problem solving
● Commitment to academic excellence and student achievement
● Visibility and engagement in school and community activities
● Desire to reside within the district

About the District:
The Martins Ferry City School District, located in eastern Ohio, serves approximately
1,281 students in three school buildings. The district employs 95 certified staff, 51
classified staff, and 13 administrators who work collaboratively to provide an excellent
educational experience in a safe and supportive environment.
FY25 General Fund Receipts: 39% Local/Other, 61% State
FY25 Expenditure per Pupil: $15,753
FY26 Appropriations (Estimated): $19 million General Fund; $26.9 million All Funds
Total District Valuation: $215.5 million
Mission: To develop critical thinkers and responsible citizens in a positive and safe
learning environment.
Salary and Contract: The Board of Education anticipates offering a multi-year contract
with a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with the candidate’s
qualifications and experience.
