Superintendent

The Madison Local School District in Lake County Ohio is seeking applicants for the position of Superintendent.  The successful candidate will possess the following experiences and skills:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

• Current State of Ohio Superintendent license

Successful experience as a public school administrator 

Enthusiastic educational leadership abilities that supports and promotes educational excellence

     Ability to engage the business community, village and township leaders, civic organizations, school support groups, and community in promoting the        district’s role in the community and the educational opportunities provided to students

• Proven ability to develop and nurture effective professional working relationships with all school district employees
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills  
• Knowledge of school Ohio school funding
• Effective fiscal management skills including the ability to maximize available resources
• Ability to effectively use instructional technology

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

Successful experience as an Ohio public school Superintendent or central office administrator

• Successful experience in collective bargaining
• Successful experience in facility management and business operations
• Successful experience with strategic planning and execution

Compensation and employment terms:

The successful candidate will be offered a multi-year contact.  The Board of Education will offer a salary up to $135,000 based upon experience and qualifications. 

Tentative Timeline:

• The Board of Education will be accepting applications through January 31, 2025
• First round interviews will be held on February 17 - 28
• Final interviews will be held March 10 – March 19
• Offer and employment action March 19- 20 

Transition time with the current Superintendent

and Administrative team June and July 2025
